Visit NWO Institutes during the Weekend of Science

Seven NWO Institutes will open their doors during the Weekend of Science on 5 and 6 October 2024. They will provide the public with accessible insights into the world of science and technology at NWO-I. For example, you can view your own 3D hologram at AMOLF, take a look at the lab at NIKHEF, learn to code a game at CWI, or explore stars and planets at Astron or SRON.

About the Weekend of Science

During the Weekend of Science, universities, colleges, institutes, and museums across the country open their doors. Visitors are given a unique opportunity to get acquainted with scientific research. At the NWO institutes, world-class research takes place, for example in the fields of radio astronomy or nuclear fusion. The NWO institutes paticipating in the Weekend of Science will hold tours, lectures, and demonstrations. Visitors can also get stuck in themselves through workshops or experiments. There are activities for both children and adults. Get inspired and visit us!

Participating NWO Institutes

• The NWO Institutes AMOLF, ARCNL, CWI, and Nikhef, all located at the Amsterdam Science Park, can be visited on 5 October during Science Day Amsterdam Science Park.
• DIFFER will also open its doors on 5 October
• ASTRON is open on 6 October
• SRON can be visited on 5 October (Leiden location) and 6 October  (Groningen location)
