Negotiated agreement CAO 2021

The employers’ organisation WVOI and the trade unions FNV, CNV Overheid and AOb have reached a negotiated agreement about a new Collective Labour Agreement Research Institutes (CAO-OI) for 2021. The agreement covers issues such as salary increase, paternity leave and bereavement leave.

The parties have made the following agreements:

  • The collective labour agreement is for the period 1 January 2021 to 31 December 2021.
  • The salaries will be increased by 1.4% with effect from 1 January 2021.
  • During paternity leave, the salary will be supplemented up to the maximum daily salary. The payment of the pension premium will continue as if it were fully paid leave. During paternity leave, the accumulation of vacation leave continues.
  • The employers will produce a bereavement leave protocol in consultation with the works councils. The parties have agreed that the bereavement leave can be taken within the existing frameworks of applicable schemes, and that it will involve at least one week of unpaid leave following a funeral or cremation. This concerns bereavement leave in the case of the death of a first or second degree relative.

Whether this negotiated agreement will become the final agreement will become clear by 24 March at the latest.
