Dutch Research Agenda (NWA) at 'Zwarte Cross'

  • 20 July 2023 until 23 July 2023
  • Lichtenvoorde

‘Zwarte Cross’ is the biggest music festival in the Netherlands and the biggest motocross in the world. The Dutch Research Agenda (NWA) brings science to this event that takes place in Lichtenvoorde.

About the Dutch Research Agenda

The link between science and society is strong, even if it doesn’t always feel that way. So how do we bring science closer to society? Through the Dutch Research Agenda (NWA). NWO implements the NWA research programme on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW). The NWA funds scientific research, explores societal issues and demonstrates how science works. It always deals with topics that play an important role in society. These are topics that citizens themselves have put forward. The NWA also makes science accessible to everyone through a variety of activities. From a science festival for children  (Expeditie Next) to a programme at the Lowlands music and performing arts festival.

All this is done in cooperation with different parties. From universities and research institutes to businesses and citizens. Together we conduct research and develop innovative forms of communication to bring science and society closer together.
